The Simple Woman's Daybook - October 2010

Today I'm doing this....

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...
It's very dark....

I am thinking...
About major changes going on in life and how to swing them...

I am thankful for...
Salvation, my husband, family, opportunities for new things, God's provision during tough times....

From the learning rooms...
I just learned how to needle felt - I'm hooked!

From the kitchen...
Josh is out of town, so it's been leftovers and easy stuff for me...

I am wearing...
Jeans and a white and red striped rugby shirt. It occurs that my outfit is not unlike Dennis the Menace's....

I am creating...
Felted animals (check back soon for pics of my first attempts!), a quilt, a sweater, a hooked-rug pillow, a hat, purses, jewelry, artwork, and a mess! The list goes on and on....

I am going...
...to take a shower and go to bed!

I am reading...
From the Bible - the book of Ezekiel
and The Mayflower Papers: Selected Writings...

I am hoping...
That some logistics will be worked out soon for a move, a new job for me, a new apartment for us, my husband's back-to-school plans, and the future....

I am hearing...
Personalized stations on Pandora radio online - I'm hooked! Coolest thing ever... Also, podcasts on my ipod from Albert Mohler, and The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton from Librivox free audiobooks. Also currently loving the song "Your Hands" by JJ Heller.

Around the house...
Enjoying the new bookshelf I just refinished and set up; cleaning out closets and cabinets for a yard sale; moved some home decor accessories and pictures around and am enjoying the change; seriously need to shampoo the carpet, thanks to a disturbance in the force of the male dog population in the house. Ugh.

One of my favorite things...
Learning new things - especially when it involves learning how to MAKE something. Also, having "a ha!" moments when studying the Bible or listening to a really good pastor or Bible teacher speak. Had both today - a good day....

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Grocery shop, shampoo carpet, send out resumes, clean out closets and cabinets, go to Bible study, attend a bridal shower and serve punch.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

"The King of love, my shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never,
I nothing lack if I am His, and He is mine forever..."

By the way, do you have a problem with Pandora shutting off and then asking, "Are you still there? Should we keep playing?" I love Pandora, but I find that aspect annoying as I like to start the music and then go about my day elsewhere in the house - until I realize the music has stopped and I have to go click, "Yes".

  2. I've had Pandora shut off, but it doesn't ask me anything. I haven't used it long enough to notice much yet though. And I'm usually sitting at the computer when I am, so it's not a big deal. That would get annoying though.

Fun reading your list - thanks for playing! :o)
