Love in a Mist

Well, I finally completed this watercolor...
"Love in a Mist"
Watercolor on Arches 140 lb CP Paper
5" x 7"
I will have prints available soon....
Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry I haven't done much posting lately...
We've been quite busy.

I do have some exciting news to share with you...
I have several new prints available
on my website now,
including the 6 completed Proverbs 31 Woman prints.
I have 3 more to go,
but you can go ahead and start collecting them now...
2 sizes are available.

I've also joined Twitter,
so you can follow me on there -
you know, if you're into that sort of thing.
There's a link on my sidebar where you can add me.

Still doing the Farmer's Market on occasion,
although I won't be there this Saturday.
I'll be in New York.

To tide you over until next time,
here's the progress I've made
on the little painting I started
at the Farmer's Market
a couple of weeks ago.

This is after the first painting session,
and this is how it is now....
The flower in the middle (unpainted still) is called
a nigella
or "Love in a Mist"
which I think is a pretty name
for such a delicate flower...
Check back soon
to see what it looks like!
Hope you're having
a lovely week.

Watercolor Wednesday

Watercolor on Arches 140lb CP Paper

Hope you're having
a lovely day.

Fine arts show coming to Jonesborough!

Some exciting news... Jonesborough's Storytelling Center will be hosting
its first-ever outdoor fine arts show
on October 24th, 2009.

We are looking for fine artists and artisans
(and by fine, we mean "fine art,"
in other words,
no crocheted toilet-paper covers
and such things...
not that we have anything against
crocheted items or other crafts
or anyone who makes them... but we already
have local venues for that,
and we don't have a fine art show. Whew.)

It will be a juried event.
If you are an artist or artisan
and interested in participating,
please contact me.

If you are a business owner
or supporter of the arts
and interested in sponsoring the event,
please contact me.

If you would like to come see the show,
just show up in Jonesborough, TN
on October 24th, 10am-5pm!

Hope to see you there!

A little history....

I was digging through an old file
and found this drawing
I did when I was 13.
A little piece of America's and my history...

Not too great,
but since it's patriotic,
I thought I'd share it with you
in honor of the weekend.

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."

- Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, 1781.

Happy Independence Day!

Coming soon...

Very soon
I will have prints available
from my Proverbs 31 Series.

The series is still in progress,
so check back frequently
for new pieces.

'Til then, enjoy the ones
I've done so far!
