Good morning.
Last night I put the finishing touches on the latest in my collaged hymn series, and I thought I'd share it with you today.... Here it is:
"I Need Thee Every Hour"
by Beth Stone
Digital, watercolor, acrylic ink, and ephemera collage on Arches 140lb CP 100% Cotton Rag
This is Josh's favorite hymn, and the original is a late birthday gift for him.
Have you heard this hymn before? I'll share the lyrics with you in case you haven't:
"I Need Thee Every Hour"
Lyrics by Annie S. Hawks
Music by Robert Lowry
Music by Robert Lowry
I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like thine can peace afford.
no tender voice like thine can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need thee, O I need thee;
every hour I need thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee.
I need thee every hour; stay thou nearby;
temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour, in joy or pain;
come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour; teach me thy will;
and thy rich promises in me fulfill.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me thine indeed, thou blessed Son.
(Refrain)
I need thee, O I need thee;
every hour I need thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee.
I need thee every hour; stay thou nearby;
temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour, in joy or pain;
come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour; teach me thy will;
and thy rich promises in me fulfill.
(Refrain)
I need thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me thine indeed, thou blessed Son.
(Refrain)
Here's a nice version of the song by Fernando Ortega:
Love it! One of my favorite hymns.
